๐Ÿ’ฐFinding Sponsorships

Tips & Tricks

  1. Look at companies that parents of students or mentors on the team work at. GM and Google for example have/had deals to donate money under certain conditions

  2. Avoid email if you can, it's the easiest way for someone to read it and trash it. Instead, call the company, walk in person the the business, anything else, this way they're forced to reply even if it is a no (which is the worse they can say)

  3. Local companies are more likely to sponsor you than a large corporate entity. For example, I am more likely to get a sponsorship from my car dealership than I am from Costco, because the "smaller" companies can more freely allocate their own funds, to give some to you

  4. Prepare some sort of material to give to prospective sponsors. This could be in the form of brochures, business cards, pamphlets, anything. Having something tangible in your hands makes it a lot easier to donate, and mote likely for me to give since I'm staring at it, not trying to remember something

  5. Accept multiple forms of payment, while it's different if you're working out of a school, as a small club, or whatnot, search for a way to accept cash, checks, and online payments to help avoid limiting prospective sponsors based on their tangible donation abilities
