POE Injector Cable

Power Over Ethernet Injector Cable (REV)

Safety Note: Be sure to plug the male ethernet plug into the radio. Plugging this end into other devices that do not expect 12V POE, such as the roboRIO, can permanently damage them. Also, ensure that the power wires are connected with the proper polarity. Reverse polarity will permanently damage most radios.

For connection to power, two options are available:

1. (Recommended) - Cut off the barrel connector, and attach the bare wires directly to your Voltage Regulator Module (VRM) or Radio Power Module with 18 AWG Ferrules (am-3738_18)

2. Use this barrel connector, move the connection point to a more secure location, and wrap with electrical tape to keep it in place. This is a better connection than attempting to tape it to the back of the OpenMesh Radio.

Plug in the RJ-45 of this unit to your roboRIO, plug the same 12V barrel connector from your Voltage Regulator Module (VRM) into the power port, securely tape it in place with electrical tape (better than awkwardly to the back to the OpenMesh Radio), and run an Ethernet cable from the female port to the Ethernet port closes to the power input on your OpenMesh Radio.

Optional: a barrel cable can be used as a backup power source for your radio.
